Weird Exporting Problems

Hi,

I am tryin to export my "Contact" table from the Database Window using Word
Mail Merge.

When I try to do this I get an error message that says "Cannot define fields
more than once".  This is very odd as there arent any fields named more than
once in the table Contact (as it would be impossible to save such a table in
the first place).  When I try to export any other tables it works fine, it
just seems to be the Contact table that is causing the problem.

I have compacted and repaired and there seem to be no corruptions.

Any ideas on why this is happening?

Hi,

Would there be any (most unfortunate) field names with spaces in them?

My first thought is that you may have something like

Contact Name
Contact Address

and it's possible that the space is considered the end of the name when you
carry out the merge.

This is pure guesswork on my part, as I've never tried to do this myself,
but I thought it worth mentioning :-)

My guess is i probably have a single corrupt record somewhere in my 25k plus
records that is causing a problem.  Ugh, now on how to find the sucker.

Not sure of your problem(s).

However, you certainly can give my "super easy mail" merge code a try.

It is setup and designed to merge the "one" record you are looking at in a
form. It also has the ability to take sql (or a query) and send whatever
records you want to word.

I have a "ready to go" working example. Give it a quick try, and if you like
it..then follow the instructions on my web site on how to use this useful
tool.

You can find the mail merge here:
