Learning a Field's Properties Using SQL11 May 2008 22:56 GMT8
I'm using SQL within Visual Basic in conjunction with Access
databases. Say I am about to insert a record with a long string for a
particlar field. It would be useful to prevent errors to first
interrogate the DB to learn the maximum permissible length of that

Access Query Enigma - WTF?11 May 2008 22:38 GMT5
I have experienced something in Access that is completely
inexplicable and gives me shivers.  I was creating a query inside the
query wizard that I knew should return several records.  I ran the
query and it returned no results.  I was staring at the design of the
Delete Columns with 0 value10 May 2008 17:50 GMT3
I have been given a database with 2,944 tables in it.  Each table has
35 rows and columns labeled Dur, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 ..... 64,
65.  They contain insurance rates by age and band.
Currently all the tables are the same length and width.  I need to go
Merging tables10 May 2008 17:16 GMT1
I'm trying to merge several tables of simillar information.  I can't
do this to the table that I linked from as the information should
always be in flux.  I'm not getting the Make-table query right for
some reason.
Can I Save My Relationship10 May 2008 06:17 GMT2
What if you could recapture your ex lovers mind, heart and
soul?...Wipe the slate clean? Turn back time? Even if you feel right
now that your situation is too far gone…too screwed up …or just plain
too darn complicated?
TransferSpreadsheet to .ADP dbo table10 May 2008 02:56 GMT11
I'm getting a problem with importing an Excel spreadsheet into a table
in a SQL Server 2000 back-end. I'm doing this in VBA in an onClick
event proc in an Access 2003 project.
The target table's owner is 'dbo', but the database connection is via
User Level Security in Access 200710 May 2008 02:14 GMT2
I realize that user level security is not available for Access
databases in the new AK27 format .accdb, and I know that I can still
utilize ULS by making my database an .mdb file.
But I'm wondering WHY Microsoft is scrapping a feature that I've

Files launched w/ Followhyperlink open but not visible09 May 2008 18:12 GMT10
I am using the "Application.FollowHyperlink strFilePath, , True" line
of code from within access forms to launch any file type I want (e.g.,
xls, doc, pdf, etc.).  The files open up okay, but open up in the
background.  How do I make them open in front where they are visible?
Compacting in MS Access 200709 May 2008 17:51 GMT2
It seems like the built-in compact function does not compact at all. A
mdb file made under 2003 has been grown to over 100Mb. Compacting in
access 2003 results in a file smaller then 5Mb. Campacting the same
file under 2007 does not become smaller at all.

Databases Crashing - Any Ideas?09 May 2008 16:25 GMT7
My computer is dual boot Vista and XP.  I have Access 2003 and 2007
