Does anybody know where i might be able to locate a tool/application that
can determine whether a Database is corrupt??
Also, can a bad network connection cause a corruption to a database?

SQL Server Express was developed with two distinct uses in mind. The first  
is as a server product, especially as a Web server or a database server.  

I'm creating a data entry form for my primary table (birds observed)
and want to use a combo box that refers to a lookup table (locations).
I've set the combo box to except new locations (ones not in the
table). This populates the location field in the primary table okay,

My (main)form has a subform that contains the details of the mainform. The
default view of the mainform is 'single form', the default view of the
subform containing the details is 'Datasheet' - Datasheet displays the data
of the associated table as a grid.

I posted this (with a different subjetc line) in the ms.public.access.forms
newsgroup a few days ago, but haven't had a single response there.  I'm
hoping maybe someone here can help.
Using Access 2002:

I have a nightly automated transfer from SQL Server to MS Access 2000.
Every so often the tranfers gets interrupted and the Access database is
not closed down correctly.
This results in a corrupted database and a corresponding, open .LDB
