Reports are sooo slooow14 May 2008 09:18 GMT13
I'm editing a report and it reacts very slowly, ie I click on a control in
design mode, and I'll get the hourglass for 5-10 seconds. This is on the same
machine, same apps running where editing forms is fairly quick.
Are reports inherently slower? Any theories what's going on?
RTF control14 May 2008 08:55 GMT7
I have a database for recroding proposals in my unit. Each proposals has a
descriptive part that use Khmer script (thru legacy font).
Since Access does not handle RTF very well (limited to legacy font), I have
opted to use FMS's Total Access Memo.
Securing BackEnd14 May 2008 06:48 GMT1
Dear friends,
I am using a logon form, selecting a user (found in tblUsers) and typing the
password (also found in tblUsers) to enter a database.  I know that this is
not the most secure way, but I have to use it.
if statement14 May 2008 04:18 GMT5
I have an if statement in the on exit comand that says if the control is null
to display a message.  I am trying to get it to set the focus on the control
but it is not working.  The code I am using is below.
Private Sub Combo7_Exit(Cancel As Integer)

Access 2000 buttons stopped working14 May 2008 03:04 GMT3
I have put about 2 days of work into an Access database using 2000 with many
macros and code linked to buttons, when suddenly every button stopped
working.  Going to a previous day's backup did not work.  As suggested in a
response to another post, I created a new database and ...
delete a record14 May 2008 03:02 GMT23
I am trying to delete one record in a large table that I have, but I keep
getting an ODBC error and it will not let me delete it.  Any idea?
Jet Engine Database Problem14 May 2008 03:01 GMT6
For some reason, when I try to open my database, it displays a message
saying that there is a problem with the Jet Engine Database being able
to open the file, because someone else is trying to use it at the same
time. But this is not the case. I've even shut down every computer on
Access running slow/frequently crashing14 May 2008 03:01 GMT13
Yesterday I split my database, with the back end on the company server and
the front end on the individual pc's.  However, macros and code are now much
slower in running on forms and the program has crashed several times when I'm
trying to work in the design view.
Cannot run queries - Access falls over14 May 2008 03:01 GMT8
A colleague's PC has expired and he has brought his home PC into the office.
He has Access 2003 and can run all of our fairly extensive mdb except  when
he tries to run any of the Queries - then he gets the generic error message
"Access has encountered a problem and needs to ...

Corrupt file14 May 2008 02:58 GMT5
I have created a access database (and backed it up). A glitch on my PC meant
that I had to reinstall MS Office. Now I cannot open the database (or it's
backups); error message is "Unrecognised database format". Other .mdb files
open OK.

Is it possible to have an IF and AND statements at the same time in the same

Thank you!
