Disregard my last statement about A2003 performance. With my laptop
disconnect from the network, I get the same excellent performance with A2003
and SS2005 as on Windows XP Pro. It is A2007 that will not perform.
If you have any ideas, please let me know.

I need to design a key field starting with a month and year followed by an
incremented number. Is there any way to do this other than creating a
segmented key? Ex. 02070001    for the first record of February 2007.

We have an application that tracks construction projects.  Each
project will have multiple tasks, each with a due date.  Each project
has progress payments due on certain task dates.  Not every task has a
