I need to have 1 of 5 different values added to a field in a table based on
the value of another field. eg. if X is between 1 and 100 make Y=1 OR if X is
between 101 and 200 make Y=2 OR if X is between 201 and 300 make Y=3 OR if X

In a multi-use database, how do I restrict a user from having access to certain records and allow it for others.

Do field names have to be unique even if they are in different tables?
I have 10 tables and the first field in each table is ID; while it makes
sense that is what it is called, do I have to go further with the field
name?
