MS word will not open from the start menu.. opens fine if you access it from

problem before, but now the wizard to add a new table from file is missing.  
When I go to tools and select the Add-in manager, I get the error messge:

don't know where else to post this but,  
I have an MDE file that will not repair, upon inspection of the file (byte
level), I found that the last part of the file is missing, along with missing
data.  This mean that there are no end of file markers or end of record

I did an installation with and mde file on a shared folder. With some date
fields it gets the #name? only on the computer that has the shared folder. On
the other machine no #name?. Any ideas?
