After making an mde file from an Access 97 read-write mdb file and writing it to a cd, the understandable message "read-only" is seen when opening that file on the cd.

My table's PK is a replication ID. If I display the value in a form it is as expected, eg {ADSSD..SSD}. However if I access the value programatically, eg MsgBox Me.PrimaryKey, the value is always returned as "????????".
