Help. I just installed Access 97 on a computer that is currently running Office XP and Windows XP. (Access is in Office Pro 97; all of the other Office 97 components work) When I start Access, I get the following message:

We run Access 97 application (Forms and Data together) on Novell 3.2 and 4.1 (and we tried on Win2000). This data is used by 50 people concurrently. If the same data is run from the local PC it is very fast but is extremely slow when it is run off any of the above Network Systems.

When I do a RENAME on a MS ACCESS file to rename it - I get an error message that says this file may not be usable if renamed. example : trying to change EXAMPLE.mdb to TEST.mdb

When I open an access 2002 database, then close the database. When I try to open any database files later in the day, they will not open until I "end process" MSACCESS.exe. The pc is running win xp pro and office xp.
