I was wondering when using the "Get External Data" feature in Excel from an
Access Database.....is there a way to only allow certain tables/fields to be
selected?
What I'm finding is when setting up a new or editing an existing query using

I have a database which I can open but cannot see the objects:  
tables/queries/forms/reports or macros.  I am certain the objects are still
there due to the size of the DB 17,404 KB> I last used the db in February and
created a new query.  Then in March, I tried to use it again ...

I am setting up a shared workgroup file which is located on the server. The
individual workstations are set to use this file in Workgroup Admin. But when
around half of the users try and use Access thy get an error saying The

We have an important Monitoring Database we used in Access 2003 with
not problems. Since it is a highly secured Database users had a
shortcut on their desktop thought the Workgroup settings on a shared
server, which redirected them to the database on the server.

Forgive me if this is an elementary question.  I am still very green with
Access.  
I am trying to implement security (through the built-in Microsoft Access
wizard) in a terminal services environment.  We currently use 4 separate

I am using Access 2002.  This finally started to click on how the security
works so I created a new workgroup with permissions for three other users
besides myself.  I am the Admin and they are users with either Full Data, New
Data or Read-Only permissions.  Everything works ...

like to use for multiple databases.  I read that it's a good idea to do this.
Can someone point me to information on the best practices for doing this if

I have set up my security as layed out in "Running Access 2000", I can get
the logon prompt on my computer but it will not come up on any of the other
workstations, and so they are not able to access any info at all.
I went onto one of the workstations and it shows no user names ...
