my application runs with a linked database placed in a network folder. i have to share that folder with full permissions. it means that the security of the database is at stake, anybody from any netwark location can damage the database. can somebody suggest a solution? thanks.

I have some fields on my forms that i do not want certain people to have access to edit them. How would i go about setting them up so that i can lock or disable those fields so that these users cannot use them? Or is this question better suited for the forms coding board? ...

I created a workgroup for different users, but when I opened the database in someone else computer which is connected to a network it does not promt them to enter a username or password.
