I am attempting to grab some information from an Access 2000 database after the system from which it originated crashed. The information I have for this database is the password for entry to the database and a USER and its ID.

For a reason unknown to me, Access now requires me to log in before doing anything. I did not set up any permissions and I am the only one using the program (on a personal computer). I cannot do anything at all... cannot create a new file, cannot open a template... nothing. ...

What did I leave out? Added security in access 2003 and lost the abbility to merge with word 2003!

On June 27th at 7:46 pm all my database files ( in the same folder) became corrupt( Probably around 100 different files all with the same time stamp of June 27 7:46 pm) I think the file that did it was da8f5167.exe. I can see the data briefly in excel when the file starts

This is a high level question. I can think of three ways, in general, to implement Access user-level security * Use the built in security tools to create workgroups and users (have never done, but have read it can be tricky to implement)

I have a database that I tried to implement the access security using a stand alone .mdw security file. I no longer want to have the security implemented and want to make the DB completely unsecure.

I am implementing a database that is to be shared on a network. I was wondering with the access security when a user is logged on and some1 else tries to log on with the same correct details what happens? Are they allowed on or does it say already logged on and not let u on?
