Is there a way to specify where the .ldb lock file gets created when a database is opened? When the database is in a read-only folder, the lock file is not created. We'd like to put the lock file in a separate folder. Thank in advance,

I created a db and hid the tooolbars through the startup menu. When I use shift to open the db, the toolbars do not return. Any thoughts?

I would like to create a condition when I check the group of my user. How do I have to do that ? I have only found the CurrentUser() method, but nothing to retrieve the group of this user.

Is it possible to make a single record in a table Read-Only? I have one record that I would want to prevent users from changing. All of the other records in the table need to remain non-read-only records. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have an Access 97 .mdb file that works perfectly with an application. I converted the Access 97 file to the latest Access version. Why - because Access will not allow me to work on the DB within Access unless I convert it. This is stupid!

My account keeps getting hacked into and i dont know how to stop it. every time i get an acount some one gets onto it and talks to all my friends and they make my friends hate me. Is there a way to stop any one but me from getting on my accounts?
