System.mdw - Can I require a specific one for the database?10 Feb 2006 17:39 GMT1
I made a new system.mdw with the correct permissions and I gave it a new
name.  How can I make sure that the database is opened up only by people who
are pointing to the correct  ".mdw" ?

The last two days I have been receiving a failure when my backup program (CA
BrightStor ArcServe) attempts to backup
c:\windows\security\database\secedit.sbd. The error I get in the logs is
"Unable to open file" and code EC=sharing violation. This file has always

or design.  I've set up a unique Administrator account and reassigned
all ownership over to this new account.  (Deleted the old Admin from

when I burn a backup copy of my database this is the message i get when i try
to open the backup copy.......Could not lock file. (Error 3050)
The operating system will not allow Microsoft® Jet to create a lock file

I revivied an old database that used this to open it:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\MSACCESS.EXE"
"c:\access\oldDB.mdb" /WRKGRP "c:\access\system.mda"
That required me to use a username and password to open it.

I created a DB and I was fooling around with security and forgot how I set
something.  I do remember the password, so it's no problem.  I just want to
disable the Logon.  When I open the DB, a dialog box opens with "Logon" on

I was trying to set up my DB permissions and somehow removed Administer
permissions from the only Admin account.  Now I can open the file, but I
can't access any data.  Is there a way to reset the security, or am I just
going to have to rebuild the DB?
