I am wondering if there is a way in VBA to obtain the username of the person logged into the actual computer (not the database) or if there is some way I can let Access know who is logged into that particular computer.

I have tried using the Documenter to list permissions by group but all I get is a list of Users and Groups with a blank space off to the right. I think its an Access 97 bug. is there any other way of extracting this? Maybe a MSysObjects query or something?

Does anyone have any suggestions about how I can lock users out of a database for a short period of time each day. I just need a way to prevent users from updating records so I can assure that I'm sending out accurate data for a certain time period.
