ACCESS 2003 SECURITY17 Jul 2005 23:45 GMT1
I am working an Access 2003 database that was converted from an earlier
version.  When I went to make a change to it the MENU LINE was modified.  It
only contained a few menu items.  And those items were limited.  How do I get
the full menus back? It seems to be only on this ...

"Administer" permissions removed, now stuck16 Jul 2005 16:18 GMT2
I recently screwed up and removed the "Administer" permissions from my
"Admin" user group in a work application.  Of course, didn't think ahead and
assign the "Administer" permissions to any other group or user.  Now I can't
do anything in the application as it tells me "You need ...

I have lodged a formal complaint with Microsoft about Jeff Conrad's site (not
about Jeff Conrad exactly).
Who knows if Microsoft will take any notice. I am posting this just so's
no-one thinks I am doing "dirtys". I might or might not post the full text of
Field level security solution16 Jul 2005 06:47 GMT5
Access does not support field level security as part of its security
mechanism.  So, it seems we need to use a combination of form allow(addtions,
edits, deletions) and field enable/lock to implement security.
My application is rather complex security wise.  Different fields are

how do I change the read-only property?15 Jul 2005 16:42 GMT1

Can you use user-level security on a linked database?15 Jul 2005 11:42 GMT1
I have just set up a fairly small database for use across two separate sites.
It has been split, with the front-end saved in the same location as the
back-end. This shouldn't cause any problems with corruption, as the drive is
backed up every night, and usage will not be high. ...
MS Access Web security15 Jul 2005 09:12 GMT1

Can anyone please suggest URLs or books I can read and learn to make my

Sorting out security15 Jul 2005 05:45 GMT6
Please pardon yet another post on the subject of Access and user-level
security.  I am  inexperienced and greatly appreciate any help I can
receive.  I would like to ask a question about the internal organization of
MS Access (or, perhaps, Jet) security.
Intranet using AD authentication problem15 Jul 2005 05:42 GMT1
Our developers have set up our company's intranet site to use active
directory authentication to access web pages instead of assigning rights
directly to each page. They did this to avoid having to assign user rights to
each page. The problem that we have is that whenever a user ...
Another Restrict Question15 Jul 2005 05:39 GMT3
I know there is a thread out there talking about restricting multiple users
from a database, but the suggestion in that thread is not working for me.
Here's my problem...
Anyone can open the database, but once opened, I do not want anyone else to
