I would like to prevent external user from modifying the design of tables but without disabling the reading of data of these tables. I think about asking a password to any user in case of attempt of modying design of one of the table of project file.

As far as I can tell, Access group level security isn't particularly effective against skilled hackers. The main reason for this is that the encryption algorithm is supposed to be flawed. I'm not sure of this, but I've read enough here to at least take the notion seriously. From ...

My problem seems quite simple!!! I am using Access 97 and what I am trying to do is determin if a database properties are set to ReadOnly. i.e. What I want to do is a simple check when a datbase is opened and if the properties are Read Only display a message and quit.
