How do I limit access to switchboard items based on current user?29 Dec 2004 21:19 GMT1
I have an example of a dBase where the developer "turned off" certain menu
options on the switchboard based on what user was logged in, however, I can't
figure out how to replicate it.  The design I am working on is an employee
workload system.  I want to create a separate group ...
System.mdw problem29 Dec 2004 18:31 GMT13
Somehow my system.mdw (in the Windows32 subdirectory of Windows in WinXP) is
now the same as the .mdw of the last database I secured.  The result is I
can't create a new unsecured databse by just joining System.mdw as I used to
be able to do.

I just upgraded to 2003. I have tried to set the macro security to low as I
have a batch file that runs in the morning. The batch opens an MDB with an
AutoExec and updates an MDB for general use.
I keep getting the "Security Warning" in 2003 and this prevents the batch

How do I suppress warnings when using an Access MDB as a runtime?29 Dec 2004 11:53 GMT3
I have an Access mdb file that works perfectly in the full version of MS
Access.  The purpose of the mdb is a log parser - it simply looks for a tab
delimited text file, and imports it into a table.  Bits of the file get
spread across three other "work" tables using update, ...

I find that using the built in security is a pain. for instance, in order to
add a user you have to add thier name, enter the PIN, assign them to groups.
I thought Access DB's can't be made truely secure??28 Dec 2004 22:17 GMT4
Can someone correct me if I'm wrong or show me how it can be done without
slowing it down by encrypting every table?  The System.mdw has sorta always
been a joke since it can be deleted and anyone can still open up the mdb.
I have the "Password" tool (by Thegrideon Software) also ...
