Replicate Access vs MSDE?30 Sep 2005 22:22 GMT1
We have an Access 2000 application configured as front-end with linked
tables for the back-end db.  I could just as easily link to MSDE.
Would it be better to replicate and synch the back-end db between an Access
master and Access replicas, or between MSDE to MSDE ?
Urgent, Change retention period per code?30 Sep 2005 21:43 GMT5
I read very interested your postings about changing retention period.
I tried to change the "retention" (in the Designmaster) in the table
"MySysRepInfo", but the owner of the table is "engine"; therefore I cant
change. (Replikation Manager NOT installed, ACCESS 2003!)

Changing Owner of Design Master Database29 Sep 2005 20:18 GMT3
I have a design master which was created prior to security being enabled
which means that the owner of the database is "admin". Normally, to change
ownership of a database I would create a new database while I'm logged in as
a user with administer permissions and import all ...
Change Retention period for existing replicas??29 Sep 2005 13:43 GMT6
Is it possible through JRO code to change the retention period from
the default 60 days for a replica set which already exists?
If so, how?

SQL Merge Object28 Sep 2005 20:25 GMT11
I am trying to use an event handler with the SQL Merge Object.  My front end
is access, with SQL server on the backend.  Everything works good until I try
to add the handler.  From

not enough memory - no way!27 Sep 2005 23:04 GMT1
I have a repicated 2003 database that I have used for 2 years without
problems.
The size of the database has not increased nor any design changes made.
However suddenly I now have a problem when synchronising as users get the
Internet Replication Failure27 Sep 2005 22:58 GMT3
I've been replicating a database for several years. The last working
configuration was Access 2003 format with user level security, using Internet
Replication from Windows XP terminals to a Windows 200 Server with IIS 5.0
(and MS Access 2000).
Automatic change of replication filter27 Sep 2005 22:57 GMT3
Hi @ all,
First: Win XP, Access XP, no replication manager.
The basic: a user with a partial replica replicates with a full
replica. The filter in the partial replica is e.g. "[Region]=61110".
JRO ActiveConnection Property25 Sep 2005 21:12 GMT7
I'm curious about the nature of this property in JRO. The documentation
says:
Indicates the Connection object to which the Replica belongs.

Mixing Indirect with Direct Synchronization25 Sep 2005 05:25 GMT4
I have an application which has begun to spread throughout my organization
which, until now, has used direct synchronization only to propagate data
updates. I now have users who need to be able to connect via a VPN and
synchronize from their desktops at home as well as people ...
Please ease my terror24 Sep 2005 02:29 GMT6
Hi, all;
Usually I can research a topic for a few minutes or a few days and then
confidently proceed to do whatever I wanted to do.  However, I've been
researching replication for literally weeks, and I'm still completely
Help Turning Off Replication23 Sep 2005 23:34 GMT1
I use the Briefcase feature of Windows to keep files in synch between
my work and home PCs using a portable flash drive.  Problem is with
Access databases.  How do I stop Access from trying to make a replica
when I synch the briefcase?
Replication and VB23 Sep 2005 23:21 GMT5
I have a multi-user replicated database, with the file sitting on a
network share, but the database contains only tables and queries - no
forms, modules or anything else, although I can see that reports would
be a useful thing to have, and they will eventually work their way into
