We have an Access 2000 application configured as front-end with linked tables for the back-end db. I could just as easily link to MSDE. Would it be better to replicate and synch the back-end db between an Access master and Access replicas, or between MSDE to MSDE ?

I read very interested your postings about changing retention period. I tried to change the "retention" (in the Designmaster) in the table "MySysRepInfo", but the owner of the table is "engine"; therefore I cant change. (Replikation Manager NOT installed, ACCESS 2003!)

I've been replicating a database for several years. The last working configuration was Access 2003 format with user level security, using Internet Replication from Windows XP terminals to a Windows 200 Server with IIS 5.0 (and MS Access 2000).

Hi @ all, First: Win XP, Access XP, no replication manager. The basic: a user with a partial replica replicates with a full replica. The filter in the partial replica is e.g. "[Region]=61110".

I use the Briefcase feature of Windows to keep files in synch between my work and home PCs using a portable flash drive. Problem is with Access databases. How do I stop Access from trying to make a replica when I synch the briefcase?
