I have not been able to find the answer to this question but maybe
someone here will have an answer.  If one computer on a network is
being used as both a server and a client, can an Access frontend AND
backend be located on the same computer so both this user and other

I have a data entry form, I want to prevent editing once the record has been
opened.  I set record locking to edited record but that doesn't work.
Database is split frontend on the desktop,  backend on the server.  
Any help would be appreciated.
