How do i share a database frontend with several users over a network?

I have a mdb that needs to be used by multiple users. I am aware of
the Tools -> Security option to create multiple users. However, do i
need to create a table in the mdb too that keeps track of the user ids
& passwords? How about changing passwords? Where and how is it done?

I administer a small network with a couple of apps that both work with
shared mdb files on the server.
The server has just been replaced with a new Dell SBS 2003 R2 unit.
Previously there was no problem but now users are finding that these two

Has anyone else noticed Access FE file losing connection to the BE file for
no appearant reason?  It seems to be happening fairly common in Access
(maybe once a day) as it's happened to me on numerous occassions, but yet,
other applications don't do that to me including our JDE ...

I am a bit desperate here, so any comments are most welcome as this is a bit

I have created a monster.  I guess it's a fairly stereotypical
situation wherein I inherited a collection of a dozen or so Excel
spreadsheets from a co-worker who got promoted out of the department.
