I wonder if anyone can help? I am building a multiple user database with user access security and I would like to add some code so that every record added by each user has that user's user name included in each record... if that makes any sense?

Please excuse my ignorance in advance. I have a microsoft access database on my computer at work. I want to put it - or even just it's functionality in another program form (SQL, etc) "online" so that the three other members of my team can view and edit it once in a while.

When you have a FE BE database. Does linking the two mean that the network connection is always open, or does it only open when you are performing an INSERT, DELETE or UPDATE. I'm using unbound forms. Thanks
