As the FE is distributed to the end users within the network, is it possible
to protect the code of the FE in some way? Basically, I don't want the users
to be able to see the code and modify it (if that is possible)

that each user will need a copy of the mde in their profile.
My question is, how do I set up a compact and repair schedule for the front
end?

After splitting the database using the Access utility. I would like to move
the BE to a different location on the network, so how can I force the FE
where to look for this new location?

I'm trying to setup a fe/be database using a system dsn. I can't use mysel or
sql for the backend and I don't know what the filepath will be for the be so
I need to use system dsn so I can specify the path the same on each of the
network computers.

Using the Auto FE Updater, all folders located on share drive on the server.
Running Windows XP pro.
2 users run the utility with no problem.
2 different users with similar profile, get the following error message.

I have a client who wants me to create a database for them. Their small
network consists of two computers. One PC is running Access 2002 and the
other Access 2003.
My question is: Is it possible to design this database in the 2002 version

In a multi-user environment, is it possible to place the backend onto a

I tried it and when a 2nd user logs into the database their performance is

I have windows updates set to update automatically.  When I came in today
there were a ton of new updates installed.  Since the update I have not been
able to open my BE Database.  The FE opens fine, but the BE doesnt open at

I have  a  Front End/Back End Access aplication.A friend of mine is
developing an aplication  using
.Net and WEB Service which should be able to connect to my ACCESS Back End
database.

My clients are used to sharing a db built in version 2000.  I built them a
new one built in 2003, 2000 format.  The user on the PC where the db resides
opens it OK.  The second user can open it once.  Subsequent tries elicit a
" not having permissions or the database is opened ...

  I'm getting an error telling me that "You can't assign a value to
this object" whenever I try to assign values to a checkbox. My Code is
below. Any ideas? I have the values assigned as true and false in this
code, but I have tried with 0 and 1 and have received the same error.
