I purchased an ADSL modem, which it says is a router.
When I plug it in using the USB windows recognises it and it works, but
I want to know is, it only has one ethernet port, so how am I meant to
network with it?

I have a linked SQL Server table in my database.  I can edit and add
records to this table using bound forms.  However, in my database I
have unbound forms, which add new records.  My problem is I've been

I have a split A2k db on a 30-user network, with each workstation having its
own frontend (on its C drive) and all with linked tables which are in a db
on the fileserver.

Using MS Access 2K on Windows XP
I have recently implemented a database application split into FE and BE for
the first time. I will be making modifications to the FE, and was wondering
if someone could give me feedback on the setup I have.

Two problems. First:
I have an Access DB (2000) that I am distributing to about 10 machines and
will have about 200 users. I am trying to find the best way to allow each
user to open the database. Should I put a shortcut on each users desktop and

Does anyone know why the system dsn setting on a client computer would
disappear overnight? The user was using it yesterday and today it doesn't
exist. Other than direct administrator action, what could have done this?

I developed quite a few databases in Access ’97.  The databases are on a LAN
and have multiple users.  The user group has just recently been moved from NT
to XP.  The conversion from 97 to XP went fine, but I’m having trouble with
maintenance.

I am going to be deploying a database FE/BE to my client, where they
will have the FE on their local C drives, but the BE will be on the
server on a mapped drive letter P (for projects).  Will there be any

I have Access 97 installed on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition.
When I have one user in Access97 it works ok.
When a second user tries to execute Access it gives them
C:\windows\system32\system.mdw file already in use.

I have a database that I'm building for my department & another to use.  
Currently, I have this database saved to my own "C" drive as well as the
"groups" drive.  The users would prefer a desktop icon Vs finding the path,
etc.
