When running a read/write validating process in access2003 the user starts
another program(excel,word,outlook, etc..). this allows the user to use the
new program, however it locks up Access2003 and only deleting the access2003
process with the task manager allows a return to ...

Using A2003 but I guess this is not version-specific...
If I want to implement row/record level locking on a split database where
do I need to set this option.  Is it sufficient to set it in the frontend
database for record-level locking to apply to the backend tables.  Or must

Is there anyway to stop a db being accessed at table level by adding it as a
linked table in another DB?
