| More efficient - query or form "Where Conditions?" | 30 Mar 2005 05:52 GMT | 2 |
This question probably advertises my ignorance, but I'm trying to make sure I have as efficient as possible db app. for multiple users and network traffic, etc. I have a split db, with front end on every user's PC, and back end on shared

| "local subforms"? | 30 Mar 2005 00:08 GMT | 11 |
I've inherited a mess of an Access project, and am trying to make the least change possible to fix the problem. The problem is that multiple users of this (unsplit) Access 2002 MDB corrupt each other's data in repeatable ways. I've determined that several of the data-entry forms ...

| Performance Issues | 28 Mar 2005 09:19 GMT | 6 |
We have an Access 97 application that performs quite slow on the network. The app is split into a FE and BE and there is a persistent connection from the FE to the BE. I think this is mostly a result of our network. Our desktops are configured

| Terminal Services | 28 Mar 2005 03:55 GMT | 4 |
We are planning on moving our existing Access 97 application to Terminal Services. I know Access applications typically run the best with about 20-25 users. Can this number be increased once the application is moved to TS? Since the data is not sent over the wire, I would ...

| Dual Continent Multi-User Db? | 28 Mar 2005 01:33 GMT | 2 |
My boss recently approached me about somehow sharing our split Access XP database with our new office counterparts in Europe. What would be the best way to go about doing this? My idea was to the office server in Europe replicate and sync with our US db file via VPN but I dont ...

| Pre-linking backend before distribution | 25 Mar 2005 15:08 GMT | 4 |
I looked at many posts regarding linking tables or refreshing links via code, but none seemed to address my particular situation (which surprised me). I have a development PC and need to distribute a Front End/Back End db to

I have a system with an Access 200 front end and Access 200 back end. there are approximately25 users on the system at any one time. When I occasionally (every 4 - 6 months or so) compact the back end, for the next week or so, I have to repair the back end on a daily basis.

| More efficient; querying queries or querying tables? | 24 Mar 2005 15:12 GMT | 1 |
Sorry I split this up into 2 posts, I forgot to add this to my previous "efficiency" post. Is there a general rule of the thumb regarding querying in terms of whether to use other queries or a table for the data? I have a query that DOES

We have several win98 computers on an NT network, some of which we are now replacing with XP pro machines. We have several Access97 applications that have front ends on the client machines and back ends on the NT server. We now receive a "no installable

| last time a record was edited | 23 Mar 2005 12:11 GMT | 4 |
Is there a built in property in Access/ Jet that can give me a Date/Time of the last time a record was edited, added or deleted from a table? I.e. A Last Modified property on the records of a table, not on an open recordset and not on the Tabledef itself?

| How to force my app to use my MDW in fileserver environment | 23 Mar 2005 01:19 GMT | 7 |
This might be a long question, so please accept my apologies up front... Scenario: I have developed an access application (2003) that needs to be secure, so I have created my own MDW file to go with it. This application will run in a fileserver / multiuser environment, so I need ...

| Printing from access | 21 Mar 2005 23:59 GMT | 2 |
I am having some issues with printing a report to a new HP printer. It will only print 1 copy even if you choose 2 or more. Is this an access, XP or printer issue as it seems to work fine from 98 machines.

I have just started my first access project and need some help. The setup would be 10-12 people working on a LAN accessing the database. My question is how to implement a Microsoft Access 2000 database across this LAN for multi-user access:
