I am trying to split my database into front and back ends but linked tables manager does not appear in my Addins and the addins forder is empty - any suggestions?

I have always used early binding but I am exdperimenting with late binding to fix errors on various client PC's. The following fails at the last line below with the error 'invalid procedure call or argument'. Anyone say why?

One of our machines scans barcoded product as it goes by on a conveyor. The vb app, which handles these incoming MSCOMM events, writes to a 4 field, unindexed table approximately every .5 seconds .... it does this for hours on end.

The dll files are also in different directory paths on their machines. The code in the 97 database app will work with either file but is there any way to automate mapping to the correct path and file at startup?

I am a relatively new Access user, and have just finished creating an Access 97 database. There is no code in it but do have many objects in it, Tables, Queries, Forms, Reports and Macros (which are run from command buttons on the Switchboard and Forms). The DB is to be shared

We have a from and sub form which have there source as a query. While in the subform, if the data is change, at close of form we receive a message: "the data has been changed" another user edited and saved the changes

Simple Access 2002 database with customers to call used by five users. I have set Default record locking to "Edited Record" and check "open Databases using record level locking". I can still open two instances of the database and revise the same record

Is there anywhere that gives advice on the maximum size of an Access Database before you should consider a full blown SQL system. Like how many reords and how many users? I am helping develop a system and we would like some idea of the constraints TIA Tony
