Unlike in Excel where the "=" is must for equations, in Access is there such a condition? I find you just build up a condition in the Builder for calculated fields or conditions. Is "=" used like Excel in Access?

is there any way to make new records appear any faster? i have 3 laptops networked to a 4th. all are using a copy of a front-end mdb locally and are linked to the back-end mdb that lives on the 4th.

I have a report that tells that is grouped by jobs and then expenses, income and total in a sum query. I have 4 accounts listed in the table. I want the report to give me sums of expenses and income per account and then sum total of job. Can anyone help me?

i can't seem to figure out how to load a multi column combo box that is configured to use a value list. AddItem works fine for the first column, but ItemData, NewList, List etc don't seem to work as expected.

I cannot work out the difference between the '&' and 'C'. This is because I assumed that the 'C' would not allow a user to skip a position but in practice it is allowed. Can any one explain what the difference is for me?

Is there a way to have a field adjust automatically due to its size...I am hoping that it could be done for a name...i.e you cannot plan for a report field size when the name could be Fred Jones or Constantinos Konstantanopolous...
