I want to do some edit checks when the user clicks on the X to close the
form.  If they fail, how do I prevent the close from continuing.  I see that
I probably need to use the "unload" event instead of the "close" event,
because the help says you can cancel unload.  But I don't ...

I am working on a database that was created by someone else.  One of the

Greetings all.  I am trying to normalize the giant Access single table
spreadsheet I have created.  What is the maximum number of tables possible.  
I currently have 120 fields in one table.  If I am understanding what I have

I have a field on my form which is set to number,  all the numbers are 4
digits,  some of the numbers start with a zero, when I enter the number
starting with a zero or two zeros the zeros are not displayed, e.g. entering
0012 will display only 12.

I want to create a form that allows me to enter a Workorder number in a
form and then the corresponding information from a table would be shown
in the subform. Can someone give me a start on how to go about this?
eg if I type in 1000, the subform would pull up the job description ...

my daughter set my pc up as i am a novice.now it says computer in use been
locked. in users name it says owner. in the square it says password. my
daughter has forgotten the password. so now i am locked out and dont know

Is there a simple way of setting a password option for a switchboard button?
All I find in this respect is user groups/accounts and I don't want to go
there because I am designing a system to be run on another network and do
not know which users will/won't use it.

I created a "command" button on a form, which performs a Form Operation of
opening another form. Using the wizard, I selected the type of operation and
the action perform. Next I select the form I want to open. When  the form
opens, I chose to display all records.

I just purchased a new computer that came with Office XP trial version.
Speech recognition works fine in that version of Word, but I will be
installing Office 2000 Premium onto this new computer when the trial runs out
in 50 days or so. I have already installed the 2000 version ...

My data base has one large table with around 120 fields, the primary key
being a job I.D..  I need to start tracking more detailed information
pertaining to the material needs of each job.  I will probably need to add
another 80 or so fields.  If I start a new table is it o.k. to ...
