Do I need to use the EXPRESSION BUILDER to REQUIRE a user to select one of the options listed in the drop down of a FORM? Meaning, the user CANNOT move to the next field until a selection is made from the drop down list from the REQUIRED field (it CANNOT be left empty).

I made a find and replace button in a form and it was working fine just now when i did find and the item was not found it doesn't give me the usual message box telling you that the item wasn't found, it just says it in tiny in the corner - where did that message box disappear too ...
