After a form is normalized as best one can, there are conflicting messages a new person gets on what to do next. Some text books say enter data directly into the tables, yet others tell you to ONLY use forms, and/or queries as the way to enter the data.. which is it?

Thanks for taking the time.. I have created a Form called "Directories" with a subform named "Files Query subform". All fields are bound to SQL statements. There are 2 controls in the subform. One is a combo box named "Atlas Index"

I have an Access frontend / SQL backend program thats distributed to company users nationwide. We have a cumbersome process where we email all users with the latest version of the program as a zipped file and they save to their desktop.

If I want to have a function return text and some carriage returns, what's the way I can insert a carriage return? Word uses ^p, Filemaker has a button to push which puts the character there, and other programs I've seen use /n or /r.
