I have been having alot of problems in importing data from an excel file into a current table. I want to maintain the table structure, with field descriptions, which is why using the "linked tables" option doesn't work for me - it doesn't use descriptions.

I'm a relative n00b to access so please be gentle :) I'm trying to link two tables together. In order to get aa unique field from each table I need to concatenate three fields. Two of the fields are text, the third is a date (i.e. Field 1 - C111; Field 2- H666, Field 3 -

My database links to two tables in another access database and also to two excel spreadsheets. At work these and the 'main' database are all in the same folder with other stuff. However I often put this entire folder on a memory stick and/or copy it to my laptop to work on.

I have been working on the Contact Management Database Template for hours and have never successfully imported data into the Contact Table. This is after making sure that all fields, columns, formats, etc are identical to the original.

I have several Excel 2003 files that have VBA code in MACROS. These files in 2003 would run in about 2 - 3 minutes. Now they take upwards of 20 - 25 minutes. Any reason why?
