Access 2000 to access 200306 Feb 2004 21:22 GMT3
When Access 2000 came out, users from 97 had to upgrade
their databases if they wished to use them in 2000. Is
this a requirement in Access 2003?  Do you have to
upgrade the database, or can you leave it as is and just

I am able to successfully convert an Access97 database to Access2000, but
not directly to Access2003.  It appears that 2000 and 2003 use the same Jet
database version, but when I open an Access2000 database in Access2003, it
says that it is an older version and must be converted to ...

Globally unique Id's for primary keys05 Feb 2004 22:40 GMT5
We plan to have a number of field personnel use Access and then use XML to
sync their data with our central office Access database.  The problem is
that each agent might end up using the same autonumber for the primary key
Id of a record.  We would like to have access automatically ...

We have converted all our Access 97 databases to Access
2000- not without a lot of issues.  Most of them have now
been researched and resolved, some re-coded, etc.
We have one issue that we cannot resolve.

Gang,
I have an Access97 database, (They are getting ready to bring it up to

Unix Time Conversion Problem...03 Feb 2004 23:22 GMT1
I have a query that uses the DateAdd() function to covert a Unix time
to regular time.  The only problem- the time is off by 6 hours (it
displays 6 hours ahead of what it should be).  I think this has
something to do with the time zones (I am CST), but I am not sure what
Open/Convert Dialog Box Disappears after selecting open once03 Feb 2004 21:04 GMT1
This has been bugging me, and I haven't found any documentation on
this anywhere.  When faced with the Open or Convert Dialog when
opening an Access 97 file in Access 2002 (Office XP) and you choose
"OPEN", you do not get the dialog back a second time. Where does this

OK - someone here gave me a suggestion on using the (newer) upsizing wizard
to do this. I thought I had saved that post but now I can't seem to find it.
So if anyone knows: 1) Where can I find the version of the Wizard that works
with SQL 7; and 2) What is the modification I need to ...
