We have a client who has an urgent need for one of our "packaged" apps to be
used with full SQL Server (not just MSDE) and not Jet and as we know nothing
in this area we have some questions and any help is appreciated:

I have a colleague (at a distant location) who is using
the Works database feature and is trying to develop a
small database.  She would like me to look at it and
assist, but I only have Access 2000.

I use a Database which was created in Access 2000 and
saved as an MDE file. Access 2002 will not open or
convert. How can I use this file with Access 2002. I do
not have the source program.

If a database is created in access 2000 and is converted
to 2002 can it be converted back to 2000.

We have a simple application developed in Acees 95 / upgraded to 97 and now
we wish to move to 2000. the application 'almost' upgrades itself apart from
a problem we are havinng with OpenRecordSet .
The code is simple and I know (with hindsight) it can be much neater but

Did you know that Styrofoam should be capitalized? At least in Microsoft
Word it is... I'm guessing that means it's a person or company name rather
than an object, correct? If that's the case, why isn't 'Dell' or 'Iomega'
capitalized? They're far more memorable than a company named ...

Whenever I try to access my file, I get this error
message: This file is in an unexpected state;Microsoft

Has anyone tried programmatically converting access 97
db's to access 2000....I have a large # of files to
process on many users machines, and want to automate the
conversion process.  I do not have any forms, reports, or

anything to do with dates.

I have been operating a mailing list database for approx
3 years, (flawlessly). Built in Access 97, converted to
access 2000, now converted to Access 2003.  Now I find
that I cannot enter (update) data on my forms that used

My current Database (Alpha Five) allow you to fill-in the
postage/zip code, then automatically fills in the City
and State.  I am considering converting to Access but
can't determine if it provides this feature.
