Does anyone know of a utility that would allow you to compare two
(similar) databases?
I have two projects that started out with the same codebase and sort
of started to branch off from each other.  I now need to merge many of
the changes from one into the other, and find myself needing to
compare the structures of all of the tables in each database; they are
basically the same, but there may be new fields in one, and the
default value or data type for a field may have changed in another,
etc.
Is this possible?

If not, does anyone know of a utility that will dump table structures
to file?  Having a .sql file for each db would be very helpful...

I can help you ----

A service I provide is documenting the table structure of a database for a
customer. I have done this for numerous customers. My fee is very
reasonable. I provide a map of the tables that shows all the tables in the
database, all the fields in each table, all the relationships between the
tables and the type of relationship for each relationship. The tables are
arranged on the map generally as the flow of information in the database. I
create a map of the tables for every database I do. The map visually shows
what forms and subforms are needed for data entry, shows what special forms
and subforms can be created for dispaying data in the database and shows
what reports and subreports can be created from the data in the database.

Before doing business with this guy, you should take a look this web
site.  He has a long track record of ripping off customers and
contractors.

Thanks for using the link Arch.
In fact everyone here is welcome to use it.
Sometimes I am sleeping, or sick and tired of this nasty game... so a few posts of PC Crap slip through...

I will adapt the website since Steve has a new ISP now.
Complaints have to be made to abuse@supernews.com from now on.

It wasn't intended to "make fun" and I don't know how you read that into it.
I'm *tired* of reading that phrase over and over and it *should not* be
iterated on this forum, *that* is my case.

OK Tony, someone has pointed out that my response to you looks
confrontational.  That was not my intent at all, please don't take it as
such, I am just so very tired of having that phrase on my screen.  Perhaps
I'll just KF him and have done with it.

Keith.

I think almost everyone here agrees that PC Datasheet's solicit ions
in the newsgroups are inappropriate.  History has, however, clearly
shown that there is no point whatever in attempting to communicate
with him.  Reason, criticism, and pleading are all a waste.  The best
that can be hoped for is to warn newcomers about his track record.
That way we consume a minimum of bandwidth and minimally irritate the
many people that come here for what these newsgroups were intended -
the free exchange of information and help for MS Access.

My 2 centavos,

Not a problem.

I never took your posting as being such.

I've had a number of far more confrontational postings directed my way.  Yours would
be somewhat like a humming bird farting in a hurricane.  <smile>

<smile>  Interesting how there are different reactions to the same posting.

Take a look at this utility:

Unfortunately the company is taking its time revving all their
products to A2007.

This will list your tables and some properties.
Sub ListStru()
    Dim tdf As TableDef
    Dim fld As Field
    Dim dbs As Database
    Set dbs = CurrentDb

Debug.Print "Table", "Name", "Default", "Type", "Size"

    For Each tdf In dbs.TableDefs
        For Each fld In tdf.Fields
            Debug.Print tdf.name, fld.name, fld.DefaultValue, fld.Type,
fld.Size
        Next
    Next
    MsgBox "Done"
End Sub

You could run this but instead of debug.printing, store the values in a
temp table on each mdb, then import both temp tables to a new databse
and run some SQL queries to compare.
