Hi, Bob.

Yes.  Access 2007 is designed to work with Sharepoint Services (a workgroup
collaboration tool) as seemlessly as possible.  (It's possible to do it in
Access 2003, but it requires some amount of work on the developer's part.)
With Access 2007, one can link to Sharepoint lists as a data source, then
edit the data within Access and see the updated data on a Web page hosted on
the Sharepoint server.  To see this in action, watch an Access 2007
interview and demo (or download either) from the following Web page:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdntv/episode.aspx?xml=episodes/en/20060413AccessCC/m
anifest.xml

The downside to this is that Sharepoint servers ain't exactly cheap.
Generally, Access is seen as an affordable data management solution for most
businesses, but if you add up the expense of all the licenses to run a
Sharepoint server, including the client licenses, and Office 2007 Pro on
each workstation, and training personnel to keep Sharepoint Services
running, then the companies that can afford enterprise level applications
will primarily be the ones using this setup.  It's possible to get
Sharepoint Services from some Web hosts -- which greatly reduces the
costs -- but there's a limit to the storage space available, plus the
ongoing monthly costs for the service, instead of a one-time price for the
licenses.  But for smaller organizations, Web hosting offers an enterprise
level collaboration tool that would otherwise not be within their reach.

Sharepoint Services sounds marvelous, but I've never used it, so I can't
give an opinion on whether or not it's all that it's cracked up to be, but
perhaps others can provide information about their experiences.

OTOH, if you're expecting an Access 2007 database file to be the data source
of a Web site, then it may be too soon for people to have had enough
experience with the Beta 2 (the Beta 1 participants signed an NDA) to offer
you the information you are seeking.  So, you may want to ask again in a few
months, but feel free to experiment with it yourself and share your results
and opinion here for others.

HTH.
