Hi Folks,

We have a user who is suddenly getting the following error message
when they start our very mature application.  Other users of the same
version are NOT getting this error:

"Error 3075 - Function is not available in expressions in query
expression 'Trim([tblProspects]![Email])' "

I believe that this function comes from the DAO 3.6 library.

Anyone have a clue how we can fix this problem?

Thanks for all responses gentlemen,

On the machine where you have this problem, open Access and press Ctrl+G to
open the Immediate window. Choose References on the Tools menu. Anything
marked as MISSING?

More info on references:

The Trim() function actually comes from the VBA library, but once any
reference is broken, none of the functions work.

Thanks Allen!  I should have known this.  It's been literally YEARS
since this kind of thing has happened to us.  I simply forgot that
this was the likely cause (another "senior moment").

We modified our update installer to include the WMI Scripting V1.2
Library and the problem immediately disappeared.  We added that lib
ref in our last update.  THIS user machine did not have that library
installed.  I suppose it's time to add code that checks for the
presence of ALL of our references.  I'm so incredibly lazy that I have
not yet done that.

Thanks again for your kind and competent contributions to this group.
You are a prince!
