Hi John,
If you use late binding, then you can trap for error 429, which will be
raised if a given application is not installed. One advantage to using late
binding is that no checked reference is required. Version specific references
can be a problem if you are setting references to Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
To find out if an application is installed, you might try using the code
shown in this method:
