Listview/Treeview - Drag and Drop to sort

Hi,

I am trying to do a listview or treeview in Access 2003 that allows the
users to sort the entries using drag and drop.

It should work the way Internet Explorer handles its favorites or Windows
handles drag and drop in its Start Menu.

You can drag one entry in between others and the drop target is represented
by a line.

Is there a way to replicate the behaviour of sorting via drag and drop in
Access 2003?

All I can do now (die to some help in the german group) is to drag one
element on top of another element but that makes sorting a mess. I need a
way to drag one element BETWEEN others.

Any ideas or experiences?
Many thanks in advance
Mark

Hi Mark,

The best example of treeview controls that I've found is Alex Dybenko's one
at http://www.pointltd.com/Downloads/Details.asp?dlID=36

It's pretty comprehensive, but I'm not sure if it does exactly what you're
asking; it's probably worth a look.

HTH,

Rob

Thanks, Rob, interesting!

It has nice features I also need but the drag and drop is not exactly what I
need. In Alex' example you're able to change dependencies (e.g. move one
file from one folder to another) but I need drag and drop to change sort
order (e.g. like in Windows Start menu).

Thanks anyway for your help!

Have a look a Doug's web site and go to the drag and drop section
