Text Field - capturing data via a handheld scanner (barcode)

I am capturing data into a text field via barcode using a handheld scanner.
The barcode is on a US Postal Form (Customs number). I am having no problem
capturing the information, but was wondering if there anyway after the data
is scanned into the field to issue automatically a tab command to go to the
next field.

If I had created the barcode myself, I could imbed this command within the
barcode.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is normally a setup option for the scanner itself.  That is how all of our
scanners are configured.
