We have an Access 2003 database that resides on a shared network drive with
plenty of resources.  About 40 people have their own copies of the database
and sync up with the network.  Yesterday afternoon, an "Out of Memory
Error-Please close other applications etc" started spreading amongst the
users.  The database was shrunk on Tuesday so size should not be an
issue...We can't open the database at all.  HELP.  Is there a way to salvage
this or do we need to go to the last good backup.

try repairing & compacting it

<Path to msaccess>\msaccess.exe <path to mdb>\themdb.mdb  /repair /Compact

you can also try to fix it using JetComp (downloadable from microsoft)

Remember to make a backup copy first!
