i am finding it very hard to get hold of the above. I need to distribute some
databases that are small to medium in size and complexity. the machines do
not have a copy of Access so the above was suggested to me or Runtime. Does
anyone k now where I can get a copy of either? I am based in the UK. Cost is
an issue so the chespest option is best for me at this moment in time. I am
new to Access so the easiest and most user friendly is a must.

Many thanks

Landor

I came acros this Web site -
http://www.buynewsoftwares.com/index.php
I have no idea if there is a catch or if it is genuine as I have not
used it myself. It may be OK and if it is, Office 2007 Pro is VERY
cheap. If you do purchase a copy and it is genuine then let us know as
I'm sure others will be interested.

This is from the Microsoft website
(http://www.microsoft.com/resources/howtotell/en/faq.mspx):  "OEM software
cannot be downloaded and may not be unbundled or re-bundled from sources
other than the OEM selling you the computer. Visit our Counterfeit Gallery
for more information at
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/howtotell/en/counterfeit.mspx. "

The buynewsoftwares web site actually states that the software cannot be
registered, and that updates "may not be available".  Also, the softward can
only be downloaded, which probably means they are selling copies from a
single disk.

Bottom line is that software at 10% of retail is almost certainly not legal.

Thanks Bruce! It all seems too good to be true at 10% of the normal price. I
think I will wait for the 2007 runtime to be made available as I feel I will
be spending my money wiser.

Many thanks

Thanks Peter. I will check it out but you know what they say. "if it seems
too good to be true, it probably is"

Cheers

There is no Access Developer Edition. It is called Access Developer
Extention (or Access Runtime). Its name varies and is bundled with different
MS products (never comes itself alone for several versions).

The latest version is Acess2003 runtime, which was bundled with VSTO2003,
and then VSTO2005/VS2005 Team. For upcoming Access2007 runtime, it will be
free, but it is unknown when available. For current Access2003 runtime, it
is expensive to buy: you need to buy VSTO2005 suite, at least. If the cost
is an issue, you might wait for a while for Access2007 runtime.

You need a full Access to do your developing, and you can deploy your
application with Access runtime to users who do not have Access installed.

you should just bundle the AccessRT.msi on the Office 2003
Professional Disk.

Microsoft is retarded; and can't meet our needs.
So just use the freeware version

Thanks Norman. I think you are right. If I am going to spend money I should
wait and get the latest version.

Thanks for your time
