MS Access Forum / General 2 / June 2007Back/Front End and Novell-5.1
We have several systems that work in net here (Back/Front End) and the bases of data are allocated in the net (Novell-5.1). Everything always worked appropriately, until that 5 new machines entered in that net. Those machines are destroying the bases that access, they corrupt tables and whenever they access the systems, I have to run over the backups. some of the bases that I got to recover, noticed that data of other tables were inserted there (type, the customer's name to be the name of the equipments and for oh it goes). We are distrusted, since all the updatings beat (you conspire with XP professional, Access 2000 SR1, jet 4.0), that the problem can be related to the customer of the novell installed in those new ones you conspire (in you plan them ok the version it is 4.83, in the problems the version is to 4.90.2), that is the test that I am doing. The great problem is that those machines assist her/it here an engineering section of the company and all the machines were forbidden of accessing the bases, since it ends up stopping the company he finds out. Some clue:? If vc has some idea of what it can be happening, or some place that I can look for that information, I am once again, eternally thankful! (once again ..rs) I Already looked for that information in the fórums(inclusive in the forum access), microsoft, but at first, no answer got. One possibility may be that the new PCs all use a smiliar (and faulty) Network Interface Card (NIC). Another possiblity may be that all the new PCs share a switch or router on the network, and there are issues/problems with the shared network device and/or cabling. If the new PCs (and their network connections) are temporarily removed from your larger network, do the problems go away? Create a new table. When the FE MDB opens up write a record to that table with the userid, machine name and date/time entered and store the autonumer ID in a hidden form. When the FE closes down write the date/time exited in that same record. Those records which don't have the date/time exited in them will be the machines to closely watch. The syntax and word choice of the response is somewhat confusing. If this is a translation, please indicate the original language ... there may be newsgroups available in the original language.
