I'll go into details in another post if necessary, but I was wondering if
anyone had noticed flakiness when copying records from an Excel spreadsheet
and then Paste Appending them into a table. If I have a combination of
numbers and text in the Excel column, only the numbers get pasted, even
though the destination column in the table is Text.

Update: If I format the Excel column as Text, then everything pastes fine. I
certainly hope this isn't "by design," because this behavior is ridiculous.

I always add a phony row of data to stop this from happening.  Just have text
in the first row.
