I'm trying to create custom menus in MS Access 2003. I've figured out how
create the menu bar, add 1st level commands and written the code to support
them. I can't find how to create a subcommand and place it on the menu. Nor
have I been able to determine how to disable or "grey out" a menu function
when I need to.

In the Customize dialog on the { Commands } tab scroll to the bottom of the
"Categories" list and you should see the choice "New Menu".  Drag the "New
Menu" Command from the right hand pane to your Menu bar and it will give you
a sub-menu.
