I am seeing old file names for databases that I have already deleted.  How do
I delete those names?  Note:  I have already deleted the source files.

you are seeing them where?

When opening Access, those file names are in the list of databases to open,
although I have deleted the source files.  When I right click on them, I get
the "What's This" pop-up.

AGAIN, WHERE?  Be specific, we can't see your screen.

Are they listed in the FILE menu near the bottom?  If so, that simply lists
the most recently opened fiels (this is a standard in Windows application)
and Access does not check to see if they exist.  If you click one, it will
most likely tell you that the file can't be found.

Are they in the dialog box when you select OPEN?  If they are, what
directory are you looking at?  Are the files in that directory?  Access
can't show file that aren't there (when browsing the OPEN dialog).

I believe these must be in the MRU files. This would involve removing these
file names from the registry. There is an article at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;312968&sd=tech.

Rick,

There are listed in the FILE menu near the bottom.  And yes when I click on
one it tells me it doesn't exist.  This is exactly what is happening.  I want
to delete those names.
