I am trying to link serveral tables to one specific item
in a main table. How is this done? Do I need a query? I am
a bit of a beginner so sorry if question might seem silly.

Before we even start on how, "what" is in order (no, this isn't a L&H
re-run).

Those several tables have to have a field in common with that "one specific
item/field" in the main table.  No connection?  ... no way to relate them
(meaningfully)!

You used the term "link", but that's generally used in Access for a method
of connecting a database to a table (i.e., a "linked" table, vs. a table
that is physically inside the .mdb file).

If you explain a bit more about what you are trying to do (i.e., why do you
want to "link several tables...", the 'group readers may be able to offer
more specific suggestions.  Yes, a query is a way to join the information
from several (related) tables.

Good luck
