blind effect

I am filling out an answer sheet for a job and they have stumped me!  I was
asked about the "blind effect" and how it is achieved.  I do not know that
answer and now would like to!  Please help.

I've never heard of it either. Did the questions, or the job, have
anything to do with the database software Microsoft Access (the
subject of this newsgroup)?
