First Access03 complained I needed Jet SP8. So I go get Jet SP8.

Now it says Unsafe expressions are not blocked. So I say No, I don't want to
block them.

Then it says they are not blocked again and I need Jet SP8 to block them. So
I say Yes, I really still do want to open the file.

Then it says the file may not be safe. (Hey, I got the message the first
time.) So I say yes, I really want to open the file. Now it insists on
opening on the Modules view rather than the Favorites view I closed at.

So, I say "This is stupid!" and close and reopen to get back to Unsafe
expressions are not blocked. This time I click Help hoping to figure out how
to tame the beast. The About Microsoft Jet Expression Service sandbox mode
help reveals:

How to disable sandbox mode
Follow these steps to disable sandbox mode:
On the Tools menu, point to Macro, and then click Security.
Click the Security Level tab, and then click Low.
Click OK.
Restart Access.

Only problem is that there is no Tools|Macros|Security. You have to go and
add it to the Menu.

If this is the new Microsoft re. "security," I guess I preferred the old
one.

You will have to add the security icon to the toolbar using the customize toolbar routine.  Once this is accomplished you can change the settings to correct the popup.

Thanks. That did it.
