Hi Folks

Is this possible and, if so, are there any tips on managing the startup of
which install (who gets the .mdb)?

Appreciate feedback.

You're best off creating shortcuts to launch each database with the correct
version.

You'll find that the default version of Access (i.e.: what version will open
when you simply click on an mdb file) will be whichever version of Access
you had opened last.

There are 3rd party products that you can use to open the database in the
correction version, such as

AccVer  http://www.aylott.com.au/software.htm
Total Access Startup  http://www.fmsinc.com/products/startup
AccessOpener  http://www.openaccess.co.za/BlackAndWhiteInc/AccessOpener.htm

However, I don't know which of them have been modified for Access 2007.

Thanks Doug

Is it actually as simple as installing to different directories?
Douglas J. Steele - 22 Dec 2007 20:02 GMT
Yup.

There is an annoyance that switching back to Access 2007 can require an
appreciable amount of time. They were supposed to have improved the
situation in SP1 of Office 2007, but I haven't checked to see whether it is
better.

AccVer does not yet handle A2007.  I've sent him repeated emails with
no response.

I was unaware of AccessOpener.   AccessOpener does handle A2007
according to his website.  I was unaware of his utility.   And he has
a right click option to decompile the database.  Nice touch.
